Awards won by Aishwarya Rai
Aishwarya Rai started her acting career with the Tamil film “Iruvar”. This film directed by Mani Ratnam, won her critical acclaim for the dual roles she played. Her first Hindi film “Aur Pyar Ho Gaya” opposite Bobby Deol earned her the Best Female Debutante Award. Her special appearance in Aditya Chopra’s Mohabbatein got her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
In her career as a Bollywood actrees, Aishwarya Rai has given her audiences many outstanding performances which have won her many awards, acclaims and nominations. She is the recipient of two Filmfare Best Actress Awards, , one for her sensitive portrayal in the film “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam”, in 2000, and the other for her outstanding performance in the film “Devdas” in 2003. This film went on to receive a special screening at the Cannes Film Festival, and moved her into international fame.
She has received four nominations in the Best Actress category and one nomination for Best Supporting Actress category at the Filmfare Awards. She has also won three IIFA Awards, three Z-Gold Awards, four Star Screen Awards, an EU’s Global Diversity Award, three Zee Cine Awards and a Rajiv Gandhi Award. She also received the have the honor of having a breed of tulips named after her when the IFFA awards took place in Amsterdam.
